Second St. Ignatius Carving

You may remember that I was carving a statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Well, that carving was the first in a series. I have already carved the first copy. Here is a picture of the second carving. This one has some minor variations from the original. What do you think? Do you prefer the first one or this one?

  1. I like the second one best, Hans. Came across your site because I'm on an ongoing quest for a Saint Ignatius statuette, but they seem to be rare, alas. Good luck on your carving.

  2. Thanks for the feedback. You probably saw from my prior posts about the design and carving of this piece that the primary inspiration comes from the statue of St. Ignatius of Loyola that is in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. I hope your search goes well. Let me know if I can help.
